Oh the tears!

Oh the disappointment !
When you are 3 and have spent the last 2 years with food allergies.
The doc says to start trying foods he couldn't have.
Mom makes Brownies.
But first there is dinner at McDonalds to experience the joy of McD's french fries !
Then there is dessert.
Everyone gets a piece.
When all done, everyone scatters to do their thing.
When you are 3 you climb on the counter.
You get a plate.
You get more brownie.
You aren't too smart.
You bring the plate downstairs.
Mom takes one look, takes plate and heads upstairs.
There is alot of brownie on the plate.
Mom looks at the plan.
Flutter Nutter has scooped out half the pan and put it on his plate.
The cries and sobs escalate as he is twarted.
Then silence, he has somehow found lollies. 2 of them.
Mom here's ha ha ha, I have lolli.

This all after Flutter Nutter demostrates his ability to climb over the gate railing to the stairs to get downstairs to the big kids board game! AIY! (the gate is one we had built to match the stair railing is not something easy to scale.) OIY, I guess the baby stage is over and we are into the challenging preschool years.

Thumbs up for Milk!

So Flutter Nutter has done okay with milk. Even though we wanted to wait a week, that didn't happen. The olders were just too excited and he just had to try.
This week is milk!
Fun Mom is frustrated cause Flutter Nutter can never make up his mind about what he wants to eat. A bite of this, a bite of that. Can't finish anything, cause it is all just so yummy and he wants to eat it all even though his little tummy is not big enough.

Another Use for Dental Floss !

Bet you didn't know there were other uses.
Not too long ago, I read in a magazine that you could mend "netting" somethings with dental floss. Well this last week dear children were on the trampoline.
The final culprits will remain nameless, but they managed to continue to do what their dad told them not to do...? Imagine that?
They like to lean into the netting around the trampoline and let it support them.
Well, they did it and it began to tear from the nylon trim up above.
Then another pain in the potootie wasn't satisfied with leaning and just pulled.
ERRRR.
Once I calmed down and was ready to move on, I remembered the article.
It worked. I stitched the netting back to the nylon with dental floss. White on black, not so attractive. BUT and a big BUT this is, it is cheaper than a new net!! It took 3 days, but it is done. 3 days cause I don't like standing on a hot metal ladder trying to show a blunt needle through nylon while sweating. So I would do a bit and get HOT and my hands would hurt and I would take a break.
It works out though. Cause the olders feel bad for my suffering. They are very grateful their trampoline is open for business now.
The question is will they listen and obey their dad now?

Just when I thought I knew him.....

It's dinner time and they sooo want their dessert.
Strawberries and Blueberries with whip cream.
Not till dinner is over.
I negotiate with Flutter Nutter. I did after all give him more than I normally would.
Daddy's Buddy tells me he is full.
Well then he is too full for dessert, right?
That's what a parent says.
I tell him to eat 3 more chicken nuggets.
He asks if he can eat one french fry.
Nope! 3 nuggets.
"I can't, I am only human!" He whines.
I do all I can to not start laughing.
It was just a few months back he told me "I'm not a normal human" and then proceded to explain.

The Explosive Child...

The book I am reading at night now.
Wow, just diverted what could of been an absolutely horrid meltdown!
WOW WOW, thank you Lord.
Will write more on this later, oven buzzer has gone off!

Why is nap taking so insulting?

to boys between the ages of 3 and 5 ?
Long active busy summer days + 2 boys = Mom needs them to nap.
NO Naps times to "not" tired + "not" cranky boys = lots of meltdowns and a Mom that needs a nap.
Mom would not be insulted if she was sent to her room to take a nap!
