You don't ask a woman, but you can blab about a kid's....

Weight!

Hockey Player is fun. He is a good kid. We find lots of humor in his physique. He is ripped with muscles. Dad has him do a minimum of 25 push-ups a day. A whole bunch of jumping and sit-ups. He is ten with a 6-pack.

He is 4 foot 5 inches (total 53 inches) and in the 28th percentile for his height.
He weighs 51 pounds. Up one pound from last year. Yep, one pound! He grew two inches but managed to only gain a pound. That means he dropped from the 8th percentile for weight to the 1 percentile. There is no such thing as the 1th, and you can't say first percentile. That doesn't make any sense.

Doc looked at Dad and asked if Hockey Player had lost his appetite? I asked Dad, "did you tell him what he wants to eat for his birthday?" NO!
On the menu for today:
Pancakes and Bacon

Steak, potatoes and corn on the cob

Those are the two meals we will have with Dad.
The other meal, well it is a grab and go, cause we have to go to Awana tonight.

Of course, we won't discuss how many snacks this kid eats. Dad is constantly telling him to eat something. It bugs Dad to no-end about how little his son weighs. He has free reign in the kitchen according to Dad. But does Dad tell Doc this...NO! So Doc suggests we start making Hockey Player a FOURTH meal. Now if Doc would slow down just a little and look at all the kids, he would realize our kids eat. He might realize that Hockey Player is the only one to get the DNA from his mother's side of the family. I won't post pictures of my aunts or myself. Before children we were all kind of twiggy. I was always embarrasssed by my twiggy arms and legs. It wasso frustrating when my friends would get irritated with me for being skin and bones. I had no control over it. He even has had a Grandpa or two that never had to worry too much about the mid-life paunch.

Cook 4 meals! When do I get anything else done? The doc even recommended a menu of donuts and steaks for the kid. Will insurance cover that? What about all the ice cream Dad seems to think Hockey Player needs. Maybe we should go into ranching and raise our own beef and dairy cows.
Is it any wonder, I don't like being in the kitchen much anymore and I defer the cooking to Big-O-Daddy-O as much as I can!

But he is healthy and that is all that matters. Wait till the other Hockey moms hear about this, they will laugh. He is one of the smallest players, definitely the lightest in the weight department but he holds his own.

Free Food from Schwan's

Wendy emailed me with this great offer from Schwans. Just signed up, and my total out of pocket cost is 7 cents. I have always been curious about Schwans but hesitant to try. For 7 cents though, I will break down and give them a try!
Thanks Wendy!

10 years ago tonight....

Right about the time I am writing this, the doctors were telling me I had to deliver Hockey Player 6 1/2 weeks early. I was in organ failure. My blood pressure was crazy high. They were concerned about what was going to happen to me. When I asked if they were sure, the doctor asked me if I wanted to go blind. I am sure he wanted to ask if I wanted to die but knew he couldn't scare me that much.

We didn't know then, but afterwards we were told I had HELLP Syndrome. A crazy thing since I had already delivered one healthy baby 3 years earlier. A year later, the doctors and specialists would conclude it was due to my bad gall bladder and a genectic disposition to blood clots.
12 hours later around 11ish in the morning, my 3 pounds~8 ounce son was placed in my arms before going to the NICU. He was doing a lot better than his momma.
I was discharged 4 days after delivery but had a hard time not being at the hospital every minute of the day. He would get to leave the hospital 2 1/2 weeks later weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds. He would later gain a pound in the first 2 weeks home. A week later I was having surgery to remove the troublesome and not so happy gall bladder.
The Fun Mom adored her baby brother and was a trooper through what turned out to be a bumpy first month being a big sister.

Now my little man is in the double digits and not so little anymore.
He is an amazing big brother.
Patient, Kind, Unyielding in his role as the oldest brother,
Protective, Sensitive, Intelligent, Talented, Inquisitive, Focused...

Happy Birthday Hockey Player !

Pics are from his party this past weekend,
cause he is off to a hockey tournament the weekend of his birthday!

The last bowling Hurrah! !

Not only I am blessed with a lovely group of ladies to call friends as I posted this summer about here. My kids are blessed with a great group of friends as a result. Life has taken us all down different paths. We see some friends more than others. But when we are all together we manage to make some amazingly good memories. Shortly before most started school and after we started school we met up for one last bowling hurrah! This summer there was a Kids Bowl Free program. We all decided to sign up and bowl together when we could. The kids had a blast, even the ones who didn't care to bowl. They found something to occupy their time. The moms and Big-O-Daddy-O managed to have some fun as well!

Finally.... I am posting this group of pics. I told the moms, I was going to do it. We won't count the number of days that have passed. Thankfully, the accountability to keep my word has pushed me to finally do something with the pictures. The delay helped me to tremendously narrow down the selection of pictures. Cause Mrs. Rebecca had to send out 8 emails to all of us moms to forward all the pictures! She was the only one to remember a camera. She let me borrow it and take pictures. It's a good thing it was a digital camera....can you imagine all the bads shots we would have ended up with cause the kids move so darn quick! I also, didn't have to apologize for using up all her film, cause I really got into my role of photographer !

Little Princess is 8

Little Princess turned 8 last month. What fun we had, good memories to cherish for a long time !

I am married to an I T guy...

You know how many email addresses he has? I don't either. He doesn't. He can't remember his user names and creates new accounts.

I just asked if he got my messages.... which one did you send it to? he asked. I told him his Fantasy Football one. "Oh, I created a new one, I couldn't remember what it was."

He does IT for a living. All you out there that need help longing on to your computer. Don't call Big-O-Daddy-O. I will save you the time on hold. Just create a new account!
