"I'm thirsty" says one boy. I lose it and yell. "Go to sleep and you won't be thirsty anymore." I notice the Cubbie CD is playing no more.... 72 songs on that CD! "If you would for just one night go to bed like you are suppose to and stay in bed I might be more understanding."
I start typing and I remember...last night all my crew were so tired, none of them argued with going to bed. They had all been up at 6 am. 3 of us were up at 6 this morning. The trouble maker at bedtime was one of those 3, so why is he not staying in bed tonight. Even played out side tonight.
Mommy is tired. Tomorrow is only a few hours away. Church, hockey, Bible Study, youth group, inlaws....
"Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the Ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength" -1 Chronicles 29:11-12

No longer in the 20's
A dear sweet friend, today called me.
It is important to remember she is dear and sweet, cause what is to follow will make some wonder.
We hadn't talked for a while. I mentioned I had roses on my table for my anniversary.
She asked how many years?
I told her 14.
Her reply, "You're dating yourself. You are no longer in your 20s."
Good thing I am not having a midlife - age crisis or anything.
Good friends are honest. Even when you don't expect.

14 Years!
Happy Anniversary to my guy!
It is hard to believe it has been 14 yrs. It doesn't feel like that much time has passed. I can't remember life without my hubby and can't imagine life without him.
Recently he asked me if I was going to keep him around? "Oh yeah," I told him. "With 5 kids, there was no way I was going to parent them alone." He laughed. The secret to a long marriage??? Lots of kids???
But on the serious side, I am blessed with a wonderful man.
These last weeks I have witnessed him care for his Mom.
It is enough to make one want to cry.
I watched him carefully soak his mom's feet, and gently clean them. He then followed up with lotion on her feet and then her hands.
He spends at least 3 days a week with his parents. Often taking at least 2 kids with him or all of us. Fixes lunch for the group while I school the kids. He hangs out with his dad when he is not in the kitchen. His mom sleeps now almost 20 hours a day.
He surprised me with a dozen roses yesterday and sappiest of all cards.
He is a keeper and I am ever so glad God put him in my life.

Mom do you have a ......?
I love it when the kids starting realizing their moms are more than just moms. Today I was asked if I had a sister? Yes.
When you were school were you in the same grade? No, my sister is MUCH older than me. (It is important for them to realize she is older than me, hee hee.)
You have a sister? yes
Who is she? Aunt 'Shell
Aunt 'Shell?, I thought she was your mother. Priceless, hee hee. Aunt 'Shell will be none too happy about that. "NO"
Well who is your mother? Grandmama
Grandmama?, but she is Grandmama....
A lesson in what it means to be Grand-ma/pa.
Lights begin to click on.
Then...do you have a brother? yes...
