Warming up and Hungry!

D's idea of warming up was to eat Jell-O. Well since he's milk allergic and can't have hot cocoa, and as weird as it seemed, I said okay!

Hard at work!

Everyone else finally came in to warm up. I kept calling S, and when he never did finally answer.... And I was getting frustrated with him, I realized... He was still outside hard at work.

Snow hideaways and forts!

S is hard at work on his fort. Driveway is all finished.

M is supplying snow to S while shoveling the sidewalk to the front porch.

A has just finished showing D he can hide in my Holly Foster tree cause the ice has made a droopy mess of the branches.

Snow Day ! !

The weather was frightful starting yesterday afternoon. Really disturbing through the night.
So disturbing as the ice and wind hit our windows and the outer walls which our bedroom walls I kept waking up last night. Mike says he didn't sleep much either.
Snowed through the morning. Children are driving me nuts. My one consolation....I know there are other moms out there going nuts too. Bad of me I know. So I tell S after lunch he has gotta go shovel the drive. Dear ol'e dad is locked in the master bed and bath sick with some yucky intestinal bug. Not much of a chore. My lovely children love to shovel and they all started asking if they could go out too.
Ummmmm, YES ! ! ! ! You may. Do you think i was just as excited. HEE HEE!

I wanna go outside!
I wanna throw snowball.
In the face.
Ummm, Abby.
You want to throw a snowball in Abby's face?
Nooooo, in Stephen's face.
I don't throw snowballs at Abby's face.
She's a girl.
She'll get mad at me.

Smart boy, he is gaining wisdom at an early age.

He's home!

We are so thankful for the healing hands of our Heavenly Father and the answer to many prayers. I was so struggling with not being at the hospital today. He WANTED DAD, I was the bad guy when I had to restrain him for more IV sticks and I couldn't make the pain go away. When I left his heart rate was really high. One of the last phone calls with Dad, he told me his heart rate was down to 94. A really good sign but I was not able to get excited, I just needed to hear his potassium level. So after 4 potassium infusions, a phosphorus infusion and a magnesium infustion there was more lab work. The doctors would have been happy with a 3.0 level. Norm is 3.5-5.5. God answered in a mighty way with a 4.6 level. Orders for a hgh potassium diet during recovery and follow up with dr. next week but he is home and so happy.
Hmmm, I wonder if our ped is ready for me to get neurotic about gastro intestinal viruses now. I have become neurotic when they catch respiratory infections, thanks to our pneumonia and breathing treatment episodes. I have no clue why this child has to be either well or SICK in a dramatic way.
For now, he is talking and awake and interested in life! Praise the Lord.

Being sick just stinks!

So I am not blogging much these days. I just have a quick moment here to check in. One of my guys is in the hospital. After 5 hrs. at the dr's office yesterday they sent us to the hospital. That was a fiasco. The doctors knew we were coming, however that was not communicated to those that handle all the paperwork. 1 hour here and there, 2-3 hours in the E.R., finally we were in a room. We are sooooo contagious-ly sick, so those who think they might drop in, just might want to reconsider. Construction is almost done. The rest of the kids are being troopers. The starter of all this nasty business is feeling better. Two not showing symptoms and one mildly sick and just resting. I think that one will be up and bouncing in the morning.
Well gonna go pack up and head back up there with my sweet one. Nothing says ahhh, like a wee one who only wants Mommy.
