Tornados and Girls

Modern technology allows for really advanced warning.  Such a blessing!
We have known days in advance of the severe weather on its way.
Along with the advance warning it is possible to secure survival stuff and belongings you want to protect as much as possible.
Nothing like when I was little.  The sirens would go off and you took cover.  No worries about the stuff in your life.
This mom thinks about medicine, dog food, water, a cell phone, financial information.
With 45 minutes to spare before the storm hits, I realized I had a 15 year old daughter and a 10 year old daughter.  Clearly identifiable by their priorities
The 15 year old daughter takes care of the basic of needs and then makes sure she secures her hair styling equipment and makeup.
The 10 year old daughter grabs her pillows, stuffed animals, blankets and crocheting.
The brothers.....  well 2 of them are asleep on the basement couches.  Hockey Player makes sure the flashlights are in working order.

All I had to say...........

Recently, the mail box keychain broke.
Concerned the key would be dropped and lost outside in the grass, (it has happened before)
and talking aloud to myself one day.......
I said to noone in particular, I needed a new key chain.
Little Princess overheard and delivered.

She came up with the idea all on her own.
A beautiful flower with stem and leaf!

Conversations I wish I had never heard!

Some conversations make Mom's eyebrows raise such as this one between Big O Daddy O and Fun Girl

FG:  My nails are longer than your nails.
BODO: My hands are stronger than your hands.
FG: My smile is brighter than yours.
BODO: My head is shinier than your yours.
FG: My hair is longer than your hair.
BODO: My chest hair is longer than yours.
And silence...............
FG:  My nose is cuter than your nose. (whew,  I thought they were going to compare nose hairs!)
BODO:  I got one you don't have...My butt is bigger than your butt.
Giggles, giggles, giggles!
BOGO:  Now you are suppose to say, "My (chest) is bigger than your (chest)"  Well maybe not!
