My Mom (Grandma) is awesome part 2 ~

I was lamenting about how much my ear is going to be talked off starting Friday night and into the weekend. Chatterbox will be home wanting to share her trip highlights, and share again, and share again....
Grandma said, "Just have her call me and tell me all about it ! !"
So maybe I will only hear the same stories 3 times. You think?
Anyone else want their ears talked off? ? ?
Gotta love those chatterboxes!
It was quiet at my friend's house tonight. No dear daughter talking non-stop with us. We actually had comfortable silences between the two of us when we weren't yelling at kids and gabbing.

From where did this child come from?

Why did the Almighty Creator have to be the creator of little boys and beasts of the earth. Marking territory should not have been a shared characteristic.---- ERRRR ! ! ! !
In case you are thinking, "No, she couldn't been meaning....?"
Yes, I am. A certain child to remain un-named said aloud, and yes I heard it and started screaming NOOOO!!!!! "I am going to pee on this."
and he did.
WHY!!!?????

Grandma is my hero!

Grandma's (my mom) birthday is today.
She is 61.
She does not act 61, for which I am very thankful.
For her birthday (as of 830 am this morning). She had already been on her hike/walk, had a birthday cupcake or two (2 I am sure!), done all sorts of stuff. She proves you are never to old to learn something new.
She took up piano a few years ago.
Couple of years ago she started gardening. She dries her flowers now and makes cards for loved ones.
She has maintained her sense of humor. She has a tree in her yard now that has a face. For reals! Maybe she will email me a picture, so I can post it.
She likes to flip a coin and head off in an unknown direction for an adventure.
She does yoga, works out, lifts weights.
She DOES NOT garage sale though.
She reads stories onto tapes for her grandchildren and as a result she has been instrumental in their growing love of books.
This past year she started a book club, though I bet the club will consider screening anymore books she selects. Her latest was definitely a cruise into the different and a look into "not what we would normally read". Which is the point of the group...
She takes her granddaughters dress shopping and lets them try on as many dresses as they want. But they only get to choose 1!
She rescues her grandson from little brothers after he has had surgery to reconstruct his nose.
She reads the Chronicles of Narnia to her grandchildren whenever they are together, picking up where they left off each time.
She throws snowballs at her future (and now) Son-in-law (actually bombards him, hee hee)
She loves to make snow angels.
Believes, if you don't use it, you will lose it....so she tries to keep using..her mind and body.
This fall she will go with me and her grand-daughter to Ireland...
Why? Cause we can.
She won't kiss the Blarney Stone though.
She gives me hope there is a life after temper tantrums, mess making monsters, and 15loads of dirty laundry in 2 days time.
Most of all, she loves the Lord with all her heart, and wants others to see that in her being and her life.
She memorizes scripture and shares with her grandchildren what she is learning in God's word.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My Abby

I hear lots of kiddos say, "My Abby",
"I want my Abby"
Well this momma is now saying... "I want my Abby"
Other than just missing her, I NEED a Braum's tonight and I can't have an ice cream run cause she is not here.
I have been the dutiful mommy. I have not called to see how things are going. Can yo imagine the eye rolling and impatience if Mom called her at camp. Yikes. I can only imagine the earful I am going to get Friday night. I just hope the week improves some before then.

KMart Double Coupons

Went to Kmart tonight with my 4 youngest. My youngest needs to be kenneled next time. He knocked over a display over toilet paper not once, not twice, I actually quit counting. Poor youngest daughter was so frustrated, she kept stacking and restacking while I held onto him. Double Coupons and 3 yr. old boys don't go together. However, I persevered and scored some deals.
Covergirl eyeshadow and lippy for $.50 each after coupons.
Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste (never get this great of deal. wish I had extra Qs) $1.00
Refresh Eye Drops $8.99 --after coupons... $4.99
Lysol Trigger spray --free
Dawn Dish detergents -- .99 (we were out)
Kix cereal (happy tummy) .50
Arm and Hammer Essentials Cleaner/Bottle 2 for .99 (peelie on bottle for buy one get one free...plus 2 coupons.)
Swiffer wet pads.. on sale but no super mega great deal...we were out.
Starbursts that 3 yr. old son grabbed and opened.
I get to go eat them now. Little turkeys don't get treats. Wish it had been chocolate. But he knows he can't have chocolate.

Joys of Arguing children....

If they don't stop you can send them to take a nap. However, mine quit when I told them my plan. BUMMER! I don't get a nap.
Working on 3rd of 11 loads of laundry now. Only 8 more to wash!

Apron Strings !

Way too excited about going to camp this morning. 4 AM this morning the sweetheart was sleep walking. Into our room, she came, asking to wake me up. Her IPOD wasn't working and she needed my help. Definitely sleep walking...coming to me for help?? We spent an hour at a dear friend's house listening and learning from her husband how to deal with the IPOD and ITunes yesterday.
Wonderful husband I have, told her, "Go to bed." She did.
Apron Strings still attached...
Who am I kidding?
Prayers, Instructions and then all she has been waiting to hear.... "Say..... and get on the bus."
All she heard was get on the bus and whoosh she was on the bus. The first part of the instructions were to say good-bye to family. Dad had to stick his head inside the bus to say good-bye. "Oh, bye dad."
This mornning I learned I no longer know how to count. Trying to count mouths to feed at various events today and I kept coming up with 3? D doesn't count cause he has food allergies. How do I keep coming up with 3 heads? I have 5, took me a bit....ah, I am a momma duck of 4 today. Later in the week, I get to go quack, quack and have one come back.
