It has been one of those days. Definitely a MONDAY!
I went on the war path. I had to change my demeanor to that of Mean Mom.
They really didn't believe anything I said.
They really didn't believe anything I said.
Just weren't going to go with the plans and comply.
Then, I had a hard time maintaining my composure.
Leaving the doctor's office I caught him out of the corner of my eye.
To Daddy's Buddy, "give me the key!" Just as he dropped it down in his lap trying to hide it.
In total dismay, "How did you know?" "Because I am the MOM!"
In total dismay, "How did you know?" "Because I am the MOM!"
He handed the key over. He smirked but showed more wisdom than his years, he did not laugh and he quickly wiped the smirk off his face. He wasn't buying my reason for knowing.
Didn't matter, he complied. There was silence and awe among the rest of them. One of them had been caught red-handed. I had to do my best to not giggle or smile, or it would be all over. They were slowly coming to the realization mom was not to be tested today. SLOWLY! But there was now a glimmer of hope. At that moment, success! sweet success as I finally get a bit of compliance.
My other favorite line today was at Dillons. A grandpa stops to chat up my rambunctious and rowdy younger two while I try to pay. They were driving their older siblings nuts at home. Noone could get any school work done. I somehow thought taking them grocery shopping was a good answer to the problem. Been raining, can't go to the park and we needed milk.
I love my olders, enough to go to Dillons with these two. But I have wandered off from my story.
Dear Grandpa in Dillons says in all seriousness, "I love active kids."
I swallow my initial response, "great, they are all yours for the next 2 hours."
Instead very sweetly, I say, "I do to when they are sleeping!"
